Kevin answered an emergency call from Nigel Clough just days before the start of the 2006/07 season after a loan deal to bring a goalkeeper into the club fell through.

The arrival of the veteran stopper was initially seen as a short term measure, but a string of excellent performances saw Kevin sign until the end of the season. He ended the season as the player of the year, not bad for a 43 year old!

Kevin is playing non-league football for the first time in his career after more than 300 appearances at the highest level. After joining Aston Villa as a trainee, Kevin went on to play for Northampton, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Leicester City, Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers and Derby County.
