Despite having formerly been a Tamworth player, John McGrath is actually quite good!

When the Lambs were relegated from the Conference, Nigel Clough moved quickly to add the midfield player to his squad.

John started his career with Aston Villa as a trainee and worked his way into the first team squad where he made 2 Premiership appearances. During his time at Villa Park, John was loaned out to Dagenham & Redbridge with whom he reached the Conference play-off final.

He joined Doncaster Rovers in 2003, ironically the team that pipped the Daggers to promotion to the Football League, before spells with Shrewsbury, Kidderminster Harriers and Tamworth.
