Despite the worst haircut at the club, John is one of the most promising young players that Burton Albion has produced in recent years.

John is the first member of the successful Youth Development squad to be given a full contract with the first team. After making his debut in the Birmingham Senior Cup in October 2005, he had to wait until the final game of that season to make a league appearance.

Injuries and suspensions at the start of the 2005/06 season thrust John into the first team line up and he has so far earned a string of accolades with his excellent performances.

Formerly on the books of Manchester City and Stoke City, John has represented England at Schools level and was voted the man of the match in his first appearance.
