Although a Burton lad by birth, Danny opted for Port Vale as his first club. A trainee at Vale Park, he failed to break into the first team set up and was released in the summer of 2006.

He was invited to train at the Pirelli Stadium, and was offered a deal with the Brewers after a good showing in pre-season.

Is already being talked about as a long term replacement for Darren Stride after a string of battling performances.
