SCARBOROUGH
Nickname: The Seadogs
Address: The McCain Stadium,
Seamer Road, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, YO12 4HF
Getting There: By Car - The Stadium
is located on the main A64 York to Scarborough road about a mile and
a half outside of the town.
No parking at the ground itself, but
there is plenty of street parking nearby. Also there is a retail
park opposite which also has parking but a charge is payable on
entrance.
By Train: Scarborough station is about
a mile from the ground.
The Stadium: The 'Theatre Of Chips'
is a good place to visit for away fans. Not only is there the
comfort of the all seated Edghill Road Stand which offers good
views, but you don't have to pay the premium prices that clubs like
Stevenage charge you for the privilege. The ground is a mixture of
old and new, with a similar stand facing the away supporters behind
the opposite goal, and the old main stand running along one side and
part covered terracing on the other.

Admission Prices:
Adults - £10 Concessions - £5 Children - £2
Pub & Grub: The bar at the ground is for home
supporters only, but there is a pub within walking distance which
you will have passed if travelling North via York.
There are also plenty of pubs towards the
town centre, the most recommended appears to be the Tap and Spile at
the junction of Seamer Road and Falsgrave Road.
There is a small tea bar at the rear of
the away stand, however on my last visit it did not appear that food
standards had reached this part of Britain. The biggest surprise was
that in a stadium named after a chip manufacturer, there were no
chips on sale!
You will pass a fish and chip shop as you
make your way around to the away entrance from Seamer Road. Probably
your best bet.
