CLUB GUIDE

OXFORD UNITED

Oxford United FC

Kassam Stadium

Grenoble Road

Oxford

OX4 4XP

Getting There:  The stadium is situated on the south side of the City, just off the ring road. The stadium is clearly signposted from all major routes around the city.

Parking: There is a large free car park at the stadium but this can often fill up well before kick off time. There is an overflow car park at the nearby Ozone complex, a cinema and bowling alley.

There is parking available at the nearby pub, which does charge for this but refunds the money on purchase of a drink or food at the bar.

Watch out for resident only parking areas in the surrounding streets.

By Train: The nearest station is Oxford which is a long distance from the stadium. There are special football bus services that run from the station on match days, with a journey time of approximately 25 minutes.

The Stadium: The £15 million Kassam Stadium has been the home of Oxford United since 2001. Financed by hotelier and former chairman, Firoz Kassam, the stadium is excellent on 3 sides, but the open end gives the place an unusual feel. Watching the game whilst hoping that a wayward shot is going to hit your car perhaps takes your mind off the icy cold wind that blows in from the exposed car park end.

Visiting supporters are located in the North Stand, an all seated covered area that runs along one side of the pitch. The stand can be segregated to accommodate home supporters as well if necessary.

Each section of the stand has it's own self contained refreshment and toilet areas.

Admission Prices: Adult £18, Students £14, U16/Over 65 £11, U11 £7 (note the turnstiles do not accept cash. You need to purchase a ticket prior to trying to enter the ground)

Places to eat and drink: There is not an abundance of places to get a drink outside of the ground. The Priory is the nearest pub, located just behind the car park at the open end of the ground.

The newly built Holiday Inn Express has a bar which welcomes football supporters, and the nearby cinema and bowling alley complex (Ozone) also has a bar.

Alcohol is also available inside the ground.

Websites: The official website can be found at www.oufc.co.uk. Being a former league club, the website is a clone of so many other sites with some of the features only available to registered users.

There are a number of unofficial websites, the best of which is Rage Online http://www.rageonline.co.uk/mainpage.php
