UnitedNickname: 'The Knitters'
Address: Marston
Stadium, Leicester Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire, LE10 3DR
Getting There: By Car - The new stadium is located just off the
A47 main road between Hinckley and Leicester.
If
approaching from the A5 Tamworth, continue on this road until you
reach the Dodwells Bridge roundabout. Follow the signs for A47 Earl
Shilton. Continue past the Tesco distribution centre, the Triumph
motorbike factory and Safeway/Morrisons supermarket.
Eventually you will come to a crossroads with traffic lights. Go
straight over this roundabout, towards Earl Shilton. You will see
stadium on right hand side. Take 3rd exit at roundabout and entrance
to stadium is on right.
Parking: There is parking for 500 cars at
the ground.
By Train: Hinckley has a mainline station
which is served by trains from Leicester, Nuneaton and Birmingham.
The Stadium: Hinckley United moved into
their new 4000+ capacity stadium for the 2005/06 season. Work seems
to still be ongoing as the away end of the ground is just an
uncovered hard standing area.
There is a small main stand on one side of the
pitch, with a covered terrace facing it.
Admission Prices: For pre-season friendly
games, admission prices have been set at £5 for adults and £3
concessions.
Places to eat and drink: There is a social
club at the ground called Lacey's Bar which is open to visiting
supporters before the game.
There are plenty of pubs in the town centre, but
none that are within easy walking distance.
Websites:
The official website is very
basic and not really worth visiting. The best website is the
independent site which can be found at
