SETANTA FIXTURE FARCE
CONTINUES (15/10/07)
After
announcing last week that the away game at Exeter City was being
moved to Monday 19th November for live TV coverage, Setanta have now
reversed this decision after a major blunder.
The game
has now moved back to it's original date of Saturday 17th November
to prevent any clash with possible FA Cup replays for either side
which would take place during that week.
The
decision has angered many Burton fans who had already cancelled
trips booked for the original date set when the fixtures were
announced in the summer. The decision to move the away game at
Weymouth also caused similar problems for fans planning to spend the
August bank holiday on the South coast.

SAUCE SHORTAGE (15/10/07)
The town looks set to be struck by a mad dash to buy up supplies of

month.
Burton Albion fans are looking forward to a tasty treat when
Tamworth come to town on Saturday 27th October in the FA Cup 4th
qualifying round. The Lambs are languishing way down the non-league
system but will still provide a tough test for the Brewers.
The two sides met in the 1st round of last season's competition with
Tamworth coming out on top with a 2-1 win. |

Taylor has had his loan spell with the Brewers cut short after
suffering an injury in Tuesday night's goalless draw at Altrincham.

was impressed sufficiently to consider bringing Ryan back for a
second spell later in the season.

ALTRINCHAM 0 BURTON
ALBION 0 (09/10/07)
The
Brewers continued the unbeaten run with a useful draw at Moss Lane.
It was certainly not a classic match, the weather conditions
certainly didn't help, but a point away from home is a good return.
The only
downside to the evening was the injuries to Ryan Taylor and David
Farrell, with the latter looking very doubtful for Saturday's big
game with Aldershot Town.

BURTON ALBION 4
SALISBURY CITY 3 (05/10/07)
Anyone that left early to
avoid the rush in the car park will be kicking themselves after
another amazing late comeback.
After Daryl Clare scored
seven minutes into stoppage time on Tuesday night to snatch a point
at Halifax, his penalty in the 96th minute was the winner as the
Brewers came from 3-1 down to win the match.
It was an afternoon that
had everything. Two penalties, two red cards, great saves, near
misses and of course seven goals.
Keith Gilroy opened the
scoring but the visitors hit back to lead 3-1 despite being reduced
to 10 men. The Albion fight back started with just 10 minutes to go.
Mark Greaves headed a goal to reduce the arrears and Ryan Taylor
scored in the 88th minute to level the match.
Mark Greaves then picked
up a red card in the final minute of normal time before Marc
Goodfellow was hauled down in the box and Clare stepped up to fire
the spot kick home.
The Brewers remain in 4th
place in the table but now just three points off top spot after
defeats for Torquay and Aldershot.
