CHAIRMAN DISMISSES WEBSITE LINK (01/12/07)

In an interview with the Burton Mail, Albion chairman Ben Robinson has dismissed any possible takeover by fans website 'Thepeoplesclub.com'.

Following in the footsteps of another fans website, 'Myfootaballclub.com', which is currently in discussions with Burton's league rivals Ebbsfleet United, some members of this new fans site have expressed an interest in using their funds to buy a stake of the Brewers.

The website is hoping to raise £1 million from it's members which will then be used to purchase a controlling stake in a football club.

The Burton chairman rated the sum as way below his valuation of the club, and also doubted the effectiveness of a club run by a website.
