BURTON ALBION 2 CAMBRIDGE UNITED 1 (19/09/06)
A goal from Daryl Clare helped the Brewers pick
up their first home win of the season.
Andy Corbett gave Albion the lead with a
fantastic strike in the first half, but the visitors equalised
straight from the kick off at the start of the second half.
However Clare's strike and some good saves from
Kevin Poole ensured that there would be no last minute comebacks
from United.
The win lifts the Brewers up to 11th place in
the Conference.

GRAYS ATHLETIC 0 BURTON ALBION 1 (01/09/06)
A
brave performance by an under strength Burton side, and a wonder
strike from Andy Ducros earned all three points tonight.
Without Darren Tinson, Gary Rowett, Terry
Henshaw, Ryan Austin and Keith Gilroy, the Brewers only had enough
players to have four substitutes, but those that were available
battled hard for the entire 96 minutes to take all the points.
The win lifts Burton up to 11th place in the
table. MATCH REPORT

TRANSFER WINDOW NEWS (01/09/06)
There was no transfer activity at the Pirelli
Stadium despite some last minute attempts to strengthen the squad.
The loan deal to bring goalkeeper Stuart
Tomlinson to Burton looks to have collapsed. His current club,
Crewe, did not manage to sign a replacement goalkeeper and Tomlinson
now looks set to stay at Gresty Road.
The biggest surprise is the news that Nigel
Clough made an offer to sign Clayton Donaldson from York City. The
offer, which is believed to have also involved Jon Shaw moving the
other way, was turned down by the Minstermen.
Clough was also left empty handed in his
attempts to sign a couple of players on loan, leaving him with only
14 fit players ahead of the trip to Grays Athletic tonight.
