A very popular player during his 8
years at the club, Terry Henshaw was one of Nigel Clough's first
signings for the Brewers. Terry joined the club
from Notts County where he was captain of the reserve side. He made 3 full
appearances for the 'Magpies', all in cup competitions.
He was not the most
versatile of players and was mainly at home in the
right back role, however he was sometimes thrown on in midfield positions.
Terry was an almost ever present in the
side until he suffered a broken leg at the start of the 2004/05
season. He recovered to full fitness but found himself behind Gary
Rowett, Andy Corbett and John Brayford for the right back position.
He spent time on loan at Hednesford Town
during the 2006/07 season but could not force his way back into the
Albion first team on his return.
Terry was never known as a prolific goal scorer,
only scoring five times in almost 300 appearances. He did score some
important goals though, his most memorable coming in the FA Trophy
replay at home to Farnborough Town in 2002. With the game heading
for extra time, Terry grabbed the last gasp winner which kept the
Brewers on course to reach the semi-final of the competition.
Terry left Burton Albion in June 2007
and joined Alfreton Town. |
