Steve joined the Brewers on a one year deal in
the summer after being released by Notts County.
He had suffered several injuries in his career, including a broken
leg, and was released after scoring just 7 goals in more than 50
appearances for the 'Pies'.
Steve looked to be lacking in fitness and
struggled to establish himself in the first team. He did score the
winner against St Albans in a 1-0 win in September and grabbed a
couple more goals in Birmingham Senior Cup games.
Injuries limited his opportunities with the
Brewers and he spent most of the season on loan at Alfreton Town
where he suffered the agony of another knee injury.
He made a surprise return to the Pirelli Stadium
towards the end of the 2007/08 season to provide back up to the
squad and made two more appearances in the Setanta Shield.
