| Midfielder John Burns was brought to the club by
Nigel Clough after remembering him from his days at Nottingham
Forest. The Irishman arrived at the City Ground in 1994 and was
immediately dubbed the new Roy Keane. However his performances did
not live up to the expectations and he was sold to Bristol City
after making just 3 appearances in 5 years.
He joined the Brewers from Carlisle United after the FA Cup
defeat to Oldham Athletic and made 10 appearances during a rather
unsuccessful spell for the club.
He joined Hucknall Town and went on to play for Ilkeston Town and
Hinckley United before disappearing without trace. |
