Signed from Telford United in the summer of 1994, goalkeeper Darren Acton became an instant hit at Eton Park. He scooped the all the major awards at the end of his first season and went on to be an almost ever present in the side for the next three and a half seasons.

However the return to the club of former Albion legend Nick Goodwin midway through the 97/98 season saw Acton relegated to the reserves and he never regained his place in the first team.

He was released at the end of the season going on to play at Kidderminster Harriers, Tamworth and is currently with Nuneaton Borough.
