A former
Derby County trainee, Danny made the break into the Burton Albion
first team under manager John Barton in 1998. Unfortunately his
arrival came at the same time as the sacking of the manager, and
when new manager Nigel Clough took the helm at the Brewers, it was
clear that Danny did not feature in his future plans.
His
release from the club saw him start to rebuild his career at
Boldmere St. Michaels before eventually rising to play in the
Conference for Hereford United.
His best
moments came at Stafford Rangers where he netted 43 times in two
seasons, and caught the attentions of Crawley Town.
When the
Red Devils turned professional at the start of the 2005/06 season,
Danny's work commitments made it difficult for him to commit to the
club and he was released in November 2005.
