Dan was previously at West Bromwich Albion but was
released when the club were promoted to the Premiership. He came to Burton,
initially on a trial basis as the club sought to find a replacement for Matt
Duke.
He impressed in friendly matches, but didn't look as
though he would secure a deal, until an injury to Martin Taylor meant he was
thrown in at the deep end for the trip to Carlisle. He kept a clean sheet on
his debut and managed to retain his place for the remainder of the
season.
Dan was inspired and infuriating in equal amounts and he
eventually lost his place in the team to Saul Deeney. He was loaned out to
Moor Green during the 2005/06 season and moved to Rushden & Diamonds during
the January transfer list.
