Andy Todd
began his career as a trainee at Nottingham Forest, but failed to
make the first team during his 3 years at the City Ground. He did
manage one league appearance on loan at Scarborough, but has since
spent his career doing the rounds of the local non-league scene.
Had
spells at Ilkeston, Eastwood and Worksop Town before moving to
Hucknall Town.
Andy was
a key member of the team that made it to the FA Trophy final in
2005, where he suffered the agony of defeat after a penalty
shoot-out.
He joined
the Brewers despite interest from league clubs and made an immediate
impact, scoring twice in his first five appearances.
Andy
struggled to maintain his early form and he looked to be struggling
with Nigel Clough's policy of playing people in different positions.
He was often played in a wide midfield role and he never looked as
comfortable as when given a striking role.
Andy was
loaned out to Accrington Stanley for the second half of the 2005/06
season and his good form helped the Reds achieve promotion to the
Football League and secured him a permanent move at the end of the
season.
