Adam Murray made only two appearances for the Brewers during his short spell, but in that time he clearly showed why he had played at the very top level in English football. He started his career with Derby County, making 60 appearances, of which 33 were in the Premier League. However problems in his private life led to Murray becoming an alcoholic and his life and football career started to spiral downwards.

Whilst on loan from Derby at Kidderminster, he was admitted into a rehab clinic, and was eventually released by the Rams. On his release he began to rebuild his career, and spent short spells at Solihull Borough, Notts County and Burton Albion.

He was eventually offered a contract by Kidderminster Harriers in December 2003 before joining Mansfield Town at the end of the season.
